Access Issue: Access to Pinto Rock is OPEN! Mmmm... Cobbles :)
Pinto Rock is located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. For up to date access alerts and road conditions visit: fs.usda.gov/alerts/giffordp…
2016: Climbers Bivouac and Forest Road 830 are closed for the winter season. They will reopen in late spring 2016. Climbers are encouraged to use the winter climbing route at Marble Mountain Sno-park.
Rodeo Wall is located just a few hundred meters Northeast of Pinto Rock. It is about 200' tall and offers unique climbing on bomber cobbles!
1/2 hour approach from the pullout. Follow the trail North along the East face of Pinto. (From the East face, Rodeo Wall can easily be seen to the NE.) Continue to traverse a few hundred feet until arriving at a steep, lush gully that cuts up Left and leads to a large gap. Go through the gap to the West side of the formations. Take a right (North) under jaw dropping overhangs, and keep walking up until the wall terminates to gain the ridge. Follow a faint game trail NE under the ridge line and meander down to the wall.
