Description

Another hidden treasure! Even the approach is beautiful and nestled near the majestic Champion lodgepole pine. It's uncharacteristic for the SBs in that the climbing is next to a well-kept trail. For those seeking trad climbing away from the crowds, this is worth checking out. The 130 foot tall Siberia Creek Tower is the centerpiece of the area, and even sports unusual difficulty for the area like the well-bolted 5.12d waterchute route Silk. (The rock quality is reminiscent of the Weeping Wall at Suicide Rock.)

Getting There

Follow Siberia Creek from trailhead parking about a mile, crossing the creek several times over boardwalks. You'll see a series of potential climbing formations on the right. (The first is not it; the second is the Siberia Creek Tower.) Simplest approach is to cross the boardwalk, continue on the trail, and scramble into the boulder laden gully and back up to the south face of Siberia Creek Tower. (See beta pictures on page.)

A little more approach information - drive 4.7 miles from the intersection of Hwy 18 and Mill Creek Road until you reach Forest Road 2N11, make a right turn and then drive another 1.0 mile until you reach the parking area/trailhead on the right side of the road. Aug 1, 2014
