Description Suggest change

The Breitenberg areas are popular crags a few minutes from Gossweinstein. If you keep following the trail past the Breitenberg Südwand area, you eventually come to this wonderfully tall and steep wall.
As the name indicates, this crag is north-facing, so it's a great summer destination. There are also plenty of trees around, which ensure it stays cool. If you have kids, the crag is stroller-accessibl up until about 100 feet away from the rock, which is the last flat spot before the ground rises steeply towards the rock. The flat path of the approach trail serves as a good place for kids to play, but there are also quite a few people who like to hike or jog along this trail, so you can't block the trail.

Getting There Suggest change

Approach is about ten minutes from the Breitenberg parking area. Walk past Breitenberg Sudwand and keep walking on the main trail to the right past a couple crags until you come to the beautiful long and steep tower of Breitenberg Nordwand. Alternatively, head left from the parking area and walk the other way around the loop. This way is probably a little bit shorter.
