Description

Roughly a quarter mile south of the 35MPH Bridge turnout is another turnout on the left (East) side of the road. Directly above this turnout is a 60 foot crag that looks like a miserable choss pile but upon further investigation has two bolts, chain anchors, and some promise. It appears to hold two climbs.

If one were to commit to some hiking uphill and to lookers left or right of this crag it appears that there is potential for some other climbs in this area on similar stone. Please be careful while establishing in this area as any climbs will likely need considerable cleaning, and trundled blocks will likely end up in the road (not good!).

Sunny most of the day, may see some significant shade in the wintertime.

Getting There

Approach is nil. See the above description.

I hopped on it briefly the other day and had to bail due to weather but the lowest section felt like canyon 5.8, gaining the first bolt seemed like mid-grade 5.10, and on a subsequent rap of the top part, it looked pretty hard. All in all it may be hard 5.10 or low grade 5.11, though that is based largely on observation and not on first-person beta, so take with a grain of salt!

There are also two sets of anchors here, so two top variations once gaining the chossy ledge at 2/3 height. Sep 1, 2014
