DescriptionThe Hamilton Boulders are within Beacon Rock State Park, but aren't at the base of Beacon Rock itself. They already have their own page here on MP, so I am simply linking them here so they are conveniently located at the same place as the other Beacon Rock Boulders. Thanks to Micah Klesick for his hard work in creating and maintaining the main Hamilton page!
Seasonal Raptor Closure Details
All faces of Beacon Rock with the exception of “Stone Soup” on the northwest face are closed for all technical rock climbing effective Feb. 1, 2017, due to peregrine falcon nesting season. Climbers must rappel down ";Stone Soup"; when finished, no walk-off access is currently available. The climber's trail also is closed for all access effective Feb. 1, 2017. The approximate date of when climbing will reopen is around the middle of July 2017 for select areas. The east face is permanently closed for the protection of rare species, cultural and historical resources. The hiking trail to the top of Beacon Rock is open year round.
Getting ThereIf coming from the Bridge Of The Gids, go past the parking for the main Beacon Rock Boulders, past the right turn for the picnic areas and take the next right turn onto Kueffler Road. Follow Kueffler road up to the signs to the right for the equestrian parking and park here. Go around the gate and within 50 yards, look for the faint bouldering trail cutting off to your left. See the main Hamilton page for better details.
