Huge boulders dot the landscape along the Wetterhorn Trail. These are concentrated in several boulderfields, and for someone willing to make the hike, there is nearly unlimited potential for a wide range of difficulties. We puttered about on some easy lines just to check out the rock and found it excellent. Bouldering is not my forte, so it is unlikely that I'll ever try to develop this area, but the potential was amazing and the grassy landings were very appealing.

You can find the Wetterhorn Trail by following the description to Chimney Rock and Courthouse Mountain just past Owl Creek Pass in The Big Blue Wilderness.

Drive toward Coxcomb as far as your vehicle will allow. After a mile or so, you will come to the Wetterhorn Trail sign just after the first stream. Hike from here for an hour or so passing the wilderness sign. Coxcomb will be on the left. From here on, boulders will be everywhere. A second big boulderfield will appear after another 30 minutes with some elevation gain. You won't be able to see Wetterhorn itself unless you bushwhack up to one of the saddles or continue on the trail for another hour (think overnight trip).
