Description

This dome to the north of Big Sleep can be easily seen from Big Sleep's summit (if you look behind 12'o'clock Rock) and is remarkable for it's highly featured and nearly vertical south face. The wall bristles with hundreds of plates. One .11b goes straight up the water chute in the center of the face. To the RIGHT is one 5.8 sport route and then the awesome plated face on the right side of the formation has 4 stunning plated 5.7s that require only 2' slings and minimal gear.

Getting There

Very easily approached from the summit of Big Sleep. Climb a route that gets you to the summit of Big Sleep, skirt 12 O'clock Rock on the left side and it's about a 5-minute walk from there. Flat easy terrain. You can also approach from the lookout tower.

Descend the Shuteye Pass trail back down to Big Sleep area if that's where you started. ***An easier and quicker way is to descend the west edge of the Big Sleep (climbers left if climbing up Big Sleep), staying high out of the forest and sticking to the low angle 3rd/4th class slabs.
