As of 2019, climbing is no longer allowed in Quoc Oai by local authorities:
- The administration requires some insurance (global, not at the individual level)
- The police shut down the access, as this is close to a protected monument.
Getting There
Drive to Quoc Oai/Chua Thay along the Thang Long highway from Hanoi. Go over the bridge and into Quoc Oai. Turn right into the area with the lake and temple and park. It was 10,000VND for parking in April, 2017 - to be given to the attendant in the building next to the parking area.
