Description [Suggest Change]

One of New Hampshire's lesser notches Dickey Notch is located along the west side of Dickey Mountain and east side of Cone Mountain and associated domes. Although lacking the impressive cliffs of some of the more well known notches in the area this is an interesting place for climbing. Somewhere along the valley floor here the bedrock changes from the coarse white granite to the east to a fine gray schist to the west.

There are several boulder fields in the area and sometimes through a little glacial integration the rock types will even be mixed. Most of the full length climbing is located in a couple of areas on Cone Mountain within the WMNF.

Getting There [Suggest Change]

Park at the Welch Dickey lot and head out the Brown Ash Swamp trail.
