Getting weather forecast...
DescriptionA sunny band of metaquartzite located right off the Appalachian Trail in High Point State Park. The cliff is longer than it is tall, topping out at 30-35 feet at its highest point. There is an easy walk around to the top of the cliff, and there is even a bench at the top. Look around for some hidden "stuff" to build a TR anchor off located next to a boulder, as well as behind the bench. Further down the cliff leads to more "stuff" and a very dirty section of cliff that is in the process of being cleaned but yields some of the most challenging climbs here.
Getting ThereDrive up 23 N until arriving in High Point State Park. About a mile into the park a sign for Appalachian Trail parking will be on your left. Park in the lot and navigate onto the AT. Start on Iris trail and follow the blue blazes until you get to the all white blazes (AT). Go left on AT, if you miss the cliff then you shouldn't be in the woods. Takes about 5 minutes to approach.
