Description

A small, steep buttress of excellent rock with a high concentration of good routes in the 5.12s.

The area gets it's name from the horizontal shelf/slot, about 2 feet high, which runs along the crag. A stomach-traverse along this used to be the only way past: quite an obstacle when carrying gear to clean/equip new routes further along! Since then, ivy has been stripped from the lower part of the wall, revealing a more amenable ledge, which is now used for access.

Getting There

Follow the approach on the main Ban-y-Gor page, and continue on the path along the base of the crag. This soon drops a little way down to the left onto a narrow ledge traversing the crag, with a fixed rope for a handrail. The crag above this traverse is the Crawl Wall.
