Description

The Rock is high quality brown sandstone. Most climbs are multipitch trad, with some scattered mixed and single pitch sport available. When present, most bolts have fixed hangers. However, the occasional carrot bolt can be found. Climbs tend to get morning sun and are shady in the afternoon.

Getting There

From Melbourne: Drive north east on the Maroondah highway to the town of Buxton. Pass Buxton and turn right on Cathedral Lane. Then turn right into Cathedral Range State Park. Drive ~ 6km to Cooks Mill Campground and continue up Cerberus road to Jawbone Carpark or Sugarloaf Saddle Carpark.
