Kern Canyon MBC

California > Southern-Wester… > Southern Sierra… > Lower Kern River Canyon

Description

Granite rock, with no shade. It's right off the road with a very easy approach, but you have to go through an old barb-wired fence (easy to get past). There's 3 established routes that range from 5.9 to 5.9+.

Getting There

Park in a turn out to the right (south 178) about 22 miles up the canyon going east and about a 1/2 below the road sigh that reads "Boreal Rd, 1 Mile", or 5.1 miles from the Lake Isabella exit going west. Looking north you will see the Kern Canyon MBC right off the road. Cross the road and through a barb wire fence.

[Hide Comment] Zach Badger. Are you talking about the single hanger anchors? That stinks about them being damaged. Did you use my entry to find these routes? Jan 3, 2015
