Description
The upper west face above the lower east side slab. This is an interesting little crag (45-55' tall), with top-roping possible from the large trees above (30' piece of static rope needed to reach edge); includes the semi-detached giant boulder on the south and the section of cliff to the north.
Getting There
Hike in from the North, South or West.
From the North, park as for Little West Canyon, and after 5 minutes hiking along the access trail and at the shallow rock lined drainage (directly west of the large erratic boulder) angle uphill to the south, staying on the west slope above the the Little West Canyon. Pass the 4 pines and head for the upper west crag - about 20 minutes total approach time.
From the South (as from the gully between the Main and South Canyons), follow the deer trial up the break in the small band of southern cliffs on the west slope.
From the West hike up the gully by the North End crag, and head due east.
