> Grant County Ice
> Dickeyville Ice
Access Issue: Ice is on roadcuts off of Hwy 151.
Details
Note that walking or parking on the highway shoulder is illegal. To approach the ice legally, stay beyond the 2 foot berm on the edge of the shoulder.
Description
A series of vertical flows forming out of seeps in the road cut. These are all about WI4 or harder, and do not have a walk off. Except for the one route (Tree's Company) where you can sling a couple of trees at the top, you will have to rap off of v-threads. The road cut itself is close to 200 feet tall. If you join two ropes, it might be possible to TR with anchors at the top.
Getting There
This is supposedly the tallest road cut in Wisconsin, on Hwy 151 just east of Dickeyville. There's an exit less than half a mile north of the road cut, on the west side of 151. See map for location.
