Description Suggest change

South Mountain appears as the extended SW ridge off Laramie Peak. It's summit and upper slope as seen from the west in the vicinity of Friend Park is filled with climbable big fins and mounds of rock. It's trailing ridge which goes off more in a southward direction has several climbable mounds on it also.

Getting There Suggest change

For access from the west take the hiking trail that passes on the east side of the Friend Park Campground and it is also just east of Friend Creek. Go south and eastward to the saddle between Laramie Peak and South Mountain. At the saddle go south to South Mountain summit.
