Solomon Rocks (Pietrele lui Solomon)
International

> Brasov
Description
This is a small canyon at the end of the valley that the city of Brasov is in. It is a "popular" area because it is close to the city. There is not a large number of climbers in Romania in comparison to Western Europe but this area is one of the more popular areas in the country. It contains about 5+ cliff faces/aretes of limestone with a max height of approximately 250'. It is very accessible and has some of Romania's oldest sport routes. Many routes have hand made hangers. Most routes are on the difficult side.
Getting There
Take the bus to the end of the valley from Brasov, or take a taxi. The valley will get narrower and narrower until the road ends with a picnic area. The Solomon Rocks are very popular with the picnic crowd in the warm weather.
[Hide Photo] There are several cliff areas in this canyon. This one is the Brana Section. (Fringe section)
