Description
Well named. The Labyrinth is characterized by the 3-dimensional landscape, longish steep hike, and a couple of really great climbs, like Nine Iron v10, Beckey's Problem v7, and Girlfunk v8. There are many moderate and easier lines as well. There also seems to be potential for new lines, especially for the bold climber.
To get the most out of a visit to this area, bring a few friends and a few pads, as many of the landings are on the challenging side to protect.
Getting There
Leave Leavenworth travelling west on route 2, towards Seattle. Stop at the pullout on your left at 0.5 miles. There are two there, and it's easier to use the second one. Hike further west to just past the end of the second pullout and cross to the well worm trail leading up to Clem's Holler. The trail is big, so you shouldn't lose your way on this hike. It may be tough to spot the boulders once you get to the right area, though. Really, the best thing to do is to buy Kelly's guide for this part. But essentially. The trail starts steep, follow a ridgeline, stays steep, and then hits a big jumble of boulders with moss and lichen. The Warm Up boulder is on the left, Beckey's Problem and Nine Iron are on the right. Girlfunk, Ballet, and the rest are further uphill. Depending on your fitness, and how much you're carrying, it takes 10 to 20 minutes to get to the Warm Up boulder.
