Access Issue: Line Fire Closure in effect until 11/30/2024
Details
All Forest Service roads and access to the forest are closed due to the recent, and still ongoing, Line Fire.
Closure is in effect until the end of November, but given current conditions and precedent, it's unlikely they will open back up this season.

Description
These are a couple of small rock formations off the road to Black Bluff and while not worthy of a trip in and of themselves can be a fun diversion if in the area.
The half dozen or so routes here range from 5.7 to 5.11 and are a mix of both sport and traditional routes, so something for everyone. The approach from the closest parking area is about five minutes of easy walking.

Getting There
Approach from Hwy 18 near the Alpine Slide by turning onto either Mill Creek Road or Tulip Lane. Drive 3.0 miles from the intersection of Mill Creek Road and Tulip Lane along Mill Creek Road (2N10), where the towers will come into view on the right (north) side of the road, and park at a bend in the road.
Head north from the parking area about 20 feet to access a mountain bike trail and make a right following it through some trees and then back left uphill until Sleepy Bear Tower (SBT) comes into view. Once SBT comes into view leave the mountain bike trail and head uphill along a faint trail to reach the tower.
The approach takes about five minutes or less and can easily be done in flip-flops if you are careful with your footing.
