Description

This is a large crag with lots of hard climbing and is the home to Germany's first route in the UIAA 9th grade - Sautanz (9-). There are a total of 11 UIAA 9s, 13 8s, six 7s, nine 6s, three 5s, and one 4. The crag is about 65ft. tall and is solid limestone.

Getting There

From the Basilica in Gößweinstein, head westward down the main street in the direction of Morschreuth and Sachsenmühle. In about 100m you will reach a street on your right (before the gas station) called "An der Martinswand". Turn right here and find a parking spot along the street. Try not to block anything.
Continue following the street to its end and then continue straight down the hiking trail into the forest. 70m after reaching the forest there's a path which branches off to Napoleon. Continue down and after 20m behind a tree take a left onto a narrow path. This leads to a slight uphill hike after 60m to the Unteren Gößweinsteiner Wände. From here continue following a trail to the left of the crag uphill to the left side of the Obere Gößweinsteiner Wände.
