Description
The crag is split into two main sectors: Veggen (The wall) and Svaet (The slabs). Svaet has around 12+ climbs of varying difficulty and is a great place for courses and beginning climbers. Routes vary in difficulty from around Norwegian grade 3-9 (scrambling - ca. 5.13c). The crag goes into the shade around 4pm during the summer and is really close to the parking lot.
Getting There
From Stavanger: Drive south on E 39 towards Ålgård, take the bridge past Sandnes and follow the signs leading to Austrått and Lauvik. After the Austrått tunnel you will come to a round-a-bout, take the first exit again following signs towards Lauvik and Høle. You will arrive at a lake called Tengedalsvannet on the left hand side after about 15km (from the roundabout). Park at the parking lot on the eastern end of the lake. There are outhouses and a nice picnic area. Hommeland is approximately 35km from Stavanger and takes just over 30min.
