[Hide Comment] Climbed a route that is just left of Orange wedge. Left facing corner around a roof.
Seemed to go at about 5.9. Pros nicely. I'd give it 2 to 3 stars.
Fat hangers (not chains) at the top.

It's not on the topo map. Any info on this climb?? May 5, 2014

[Hide Comment] Edit - ze_dirtbag - I think the climb you are referring to is the one Kenny might took the chains due to it being unsafe. A guy got hurt last year after his partner pulled off a loose rock onto him. May 5, 2014

[Hide Comment] Hi Laine,
You could be right, it is a bit loose on top, although mostly just DG.
However I did notice that the anchors are "Metolius rap hangers", so I'm not sure they would ever have had chains. These are different to all the other anchors I've seen on the Tiers.
It didn't seem any more unsafe than the surrounding routes, and is actually quite a fun route.

Thanks for all your work Laine. May 6, 2014

[Hide Comment] It didn't seem bad in the loose department. Yeah, no chains needed for the fat hangers. May 9, 2014

[Hide Comment] one of the anchors on the 5.8ish double crack between tall people and orange wedge was unbolted....as in anchor bolt unscrewed and laying on ledge with the hanger and chain. anyone know what's up with that? May 14, 2014
[Hide Comment] a rock fell and hurt someone, so the guys tried to pull the anchors as route was dangerous Jun 10, 2014

[Hide Comment] I didn't pull chains or hangers. But the route wasn't so good anyway. I know of two people who. Got clocked by a climber on that route. I think D.K. pulled those.

[Hide Comment] Halcion Hallucination (5.9 Trad) from the topo map is a great crack climb, too. Was fortunate enough to have a good friend bring me here and lead it, to practice trad and crack climbing. Nov 18, 2018
