This is the 2nd large rock formation on the north side of the river seen when driving west from Curlew (about 5 miles out of town) - the first is private land and not open for climbing. Morning Rock is also private land but the current owner is eager to encourage climbing here (calling it the "Kettle Bluffs" he has posted some signage at the base along the road and welcomes climbers camping there).
The main face of Morning Rock is over 250' tall and offers a variety (sport, mixed and trad) of good to excellent climbing - with the best routes on the central and east faces. The middle and lower (smaller) faces are more moderate.
Drive west from Curlew on the gravel road (north side of the river - turn at the CFN fuel tanks), about 6 miles. Park along the road and hike up the short hill to the base of the face.
