Description

This area is 2 minutes off the Buckhorn Wash road on the southwest side of the road. There are several high quality routes on the Navajo sandstone formation. This is one of the most easily accessible areas in the San Rafael swell, so I could imagine that it could get crowded, but I've never seen anyone else there the couple of times that I've climbed there. The guidebook lists 4 routes in the area, but I did see slings at the top of at least one other crack. This area gets morning sun and afternoon shade which makes it climbable nearly year round depending on the time of day. Also, because it is in buckhorn wash, it can be windy at times since the wind gets funneled through the wash.

Getting There

This wall is easily identifiable from the road by the slings at most of the anchors. It is located 2.5 miles south of the entrance to buckhorn wash if coming from the north, or 7.5 miles from the San Rafael River if coming from the south.
