Access Issue: Park Rules state climbing is not allowed Details
This is a city park open to the public free of charge, however, city park rules state that climbing is not allowed. I am unaware of how much this is enforced.
The area is a large, sandstone, woodded bluff that rises above the land around it. The base of the climbs are wooded. Trails abound and locals frequently hike in this area, so please be respectful, especially with trash. The rock quality is currently a bit sandy and brittle due to little climbing activity.
Rising Park is located at the corner of North High Street and Granville Pike (where North High turns 90 degrees east). The approach from the parking lot to the base of the climbs is 10 minutes. Park in the first parking area by the tennis courts. There is a wide trail across from the parking lot that will take you to the top of the cliffs. From there, you can go below and scope out routes to set up topropes on.
