Description

Bee Gorge North Wall is possibly the only developed wall in all of Baihe where you could spend a few days cragging without finishing all of the routes on it. It has 22 unique routes, both sport and trad with the possibility of even more development down the west side of the cliff.

Though the area is heavy on sport routes, it is entirely possible to climb many of these lines with trad gear, if you feel so inclined.

The North Wall is definitely a must visit if you are a new climber to Beijing. There are routes there fore most ability levels; you will meet a mix of both expats and local climbers on weekends; and it has easy access to the "climber's home" just up the road to the north.

Getting There

There are various little climbers' footpaths that wander into the center of the canyon. Follow those through the tall grass. Avoid venturing into the dried up river bed closer to the North Wall, as it is home to some crazy-looking green spiders once the foliage starts to get thick. Most of the routefinding is intuitive and fairly easy, as the only trails in the area are those that lead to the cliff faces.
