Description

Please note Johnny Wall is further down Eagle Lakes Road, past the main climbing area, and is directly across the street from the Indian Springs campground entrance. It is about 100 feet into the woods. It is pretty well hidden due to the trees.

There are 8 climbs on Johnny Wall with 7 bolt anchors for top rope. Standing in front of the wall and starting at the leftmost bolt anchor here are the climbs.

First bolt anchor: Kibble & Bits 5.7 and Junkyard Dog 5.9.

Note: Use the left leaning edge to climb Kibbles and Bits. Don't use the left leaning edge to climb Junkyard Dog.

Second bolt anchor: Runt Run 5.6
Third bolt anchor: Big Milkbone 5.7
Fourth bolt anchor: Pitbull 5.8
Fifth bolt anchor: Little Milkbone 5.7
Sixth bolt anchor: Two Paw Mantel 5.7
Seventh bolt anchor: Lazy Dog 5.5

There is a lot of variety on this wall even though the climbs are short. It is very easy to move your anchor from one climb to another.

If you have someone that you need to teach how to rappel the bolts are set back about 3 feet from the edge on Lazy Dog. This makes for an easy setup for rappel.

These are all top rope climbs with bolt anchors on top. You can get on top by going to the left end of the wall.

Was at Johnny Wall last weekend and it needs a bit of cleaning but still very climbable except for Two Paw Mantle. Two Paw Mantle is too dirty now. All of the bolt anchors are still in great shape. When I get up there again I will clean it up a bit. May 10, 2012
needs cleaning big time.
kinda fun though. good for a quick session if staying at the campground. Sep 24, 2010
