Description Suggest change

Pay to climb commercial crag in Wharepapa South. General consensus in climbing community is that for serious high level climbers it isn't worth the $10 per person price tag when you can climb for free at higher quality Froggatt which is only 10 minutes drive away... Do so as you please.

However if you're a moderate grade climber (Ewbank 15-19, YDS 5.6-5.10a) this could be the place for you. In particular the Lower Tier is nicely developed with tag lines so that you can easily setup top ropes. You'll find around 30 climbs there just a 2-5 minute walk from the car park.

Be careful on the access roar to the carpark. It is rather steep and requires good clearance.

Owairaka Buttress is a newer development on the RHD of the access road that Bryce has put a lot of work into. There are a further dozen routes here and they are all moderates. If you stop by at Bryce's climbing shop after here, please feel free to through $10-20 into the local climbing fund. There is little to no national funding of moderate route development here so much of it Bryce has personally funded.
