Kinloch

International > Oceania > New Zealand > N Island > Lake Taupo

Description

Kinloch crag consists of 4 groups of rhyolite cliffs near the shores of Whangamata bay, on the northern shores of Lake Taupo. It is near the small lakeside town of Kinloch. Kincloch crag features mostly trad climbing and bouldering, although some bolted lines do exist. This crag is not visited as often as other climbing areas in the North Island despite a reasonable number of quality lines. As a result many of the climbs featured in the freeclimb guide are overgrown.
