Getting weather forecast...
Best access is by approach from either Jinmuji Station (Keikyu Line) or Higashi Zushi Station (JR Line)
Description
The area is an old Sandstone Quarry, that the local elderly climbing population uses frequently. Depending on the day, you could expect to see numerous climbers.
Getting There
To access Takatori Yama from Oppama Station via public transport, take bus 5 to the Elementary school. You can walk up the main path behind the elementary school, This will take you to Observation Tower, Expert wall, and Playground. Or you can walk back towards the main road (about 100ft) and there is a set of stairs on the corner, about 100ft before the tunnel, leading up to Buddha's Backyard area.
There is very limited parking on the Oppama side near Takatori Elementary School (across the baseball field/tennis courts from the path entrance).

CG0 = Granite/Bomber (FYI - none of the route in Takatori Yama will have a CG0 grade)
CG1 = Solid rock mostly, an occasional hand hold or foothold will crumble or have sand in/on it. Falls are not likely.
CG2 = Over 50% of the holds will most likely crumble (either hands or feet). Falls are almost certain.
CG3 = Expect 90% of the holds to crumble, explode and/or sheer off. Falls are nearly unavoidable.
Please note that I give a fall likelihood. This is not in an attempt to replace the Yosemite Scale or make one think that a route is easy (or hard). Rather it is meant to be a word of caution: How comfortable are you hanging and or falling on the gear? This is particularly important to consider when leading.
For example: If you are a solid 5.11a trad/sport climber and you want to climb Ouch! This Hurts with a grade of 5.11a CG3 you should expect to fall on this climb due to rock quality. If you are just breaking into the grade, save the effort and frustration, and try another climb. Jan 12, 2015
