Description

The state park is 16 miles south of Pocatello, near the town of McCammon. There are no climbing restrictions and no entrance fees to this climbing area but a high clearance vehicle is needed to navigate the two track road. This area is a basalt cliff band that runs about 4 miles long and averages in height from 10 ft to 30 ft tall. It is mostly cliff band climbing with some broken erratic's. Season's Fall and Late spring (depending on condition of road)

Getting There

Travel south from Pocatello on I-15 Take exit 47(McCammon)and turn east towards the gas stations. Just as you get over the freeway there is dirt turn around on the left(north) across from the first gas station. Turn in to it and look for the two track road heading north back towards the Freeway. Travel north for 3 miles and you will come to junction of four dirt roads. Turn left and then immediately take the next left fork and that will put back close to the freeway. Follow this until it reaches the cliff band. You can drive its entire length and park where you want.
