Description
Set high up on the North aspect of Snowdon, this is one of the more reliable Welsh winter climbing venues. The classic gully "Central Trinity" will often be in condition long after the snow and ice have melted from the rest of Wales.
It is also one of the busier areas - not just climbers on the face hoping for conditions, but the many people who come to climb Snowdon. On a (rare) sunny day, you will top out to a crowd on the summit, having picnics, chatting to their mates on the phone, etc.
The central feature of the face is the snowfield referred to as "the Spider" (presumably after the larger "White Spider" snowfield on the Eiger). Several of the routes start here, or cross it from a start lower down.
