Getting There

Coming from the Rustic Station in Bailey (right along Highway 285) take Wellington Lake/CR 68 east (it’s the only way you can go) for 5.1 miles. At this point, you’ll see a fork in the road with two signs. One sign has “EOS Mill” with an arrow pointing left. The road on the right continues as Wellington Lake Road and the left begins Echo Valley/EOS Mills/CR 70. Take the left road and continue for about 2 more miles. The road will merge and from here until the next intersection marks the parking for the majority of the area.

From the closest portion of road, the approach is pretty minimal, taking about 5-10 minutes, but being that this is a very untouched area for climbers, a trail has yet to be established. Traveling West/Northwest you will cross over an old trail pretty quickly. Don’t take this trail as it run perpendicular to the crag. Keep heading West/Northwest and it’ll put you either in the boulders or take you straight to the main crag, depending on where you park. The coordinates mark the main crag and it sticks out pretty well so it’s hard to miss. The boulders surround the crag, mostly going to the South and to the West.

If you continue down the road a little farther, you’ll see a large clearing with some boulders off to the left and a house on the right, this is the Backburn area.

This page is ridiculous, I've run across other orphan routes/areas with similar issues, some by Mr. Manny here, but nothing to this extent. This really needs to be cleaned up. Jun 23, 2013

I sure hope this isn't my little secret crag that I've been climbing for years and now has bolts all over it. Those bolts will be gone soon. If this is the same place, why would you bolt cracks and put anchors next to cracks when you can walk off? Jun 22, 2013
