Description

These sit east of Lion's Head on the far west end of the park.

Getting There

Even with the newly opened Lazy V parking lot, this is still the longest approach in the park.  Given the subtle gain/loss in elevation this crag is best approached via bike.

From the Lazy V Lot: Take the Lazy trail to the Service Road, then go left toward the Old Mill trail.  Turn right on the Old Mill trail and follow it for a short distance until you reach the Staunton Ranch trail.  Turn left on Staunton Ranch and follow it until it ends at Bugling Elk. Continue on Bugling Elk to the Elk Pond Cabin. From the cabin, head uphill on the Lion's Back Trail. Take a left on Chimney Rock Trail to access the developed climbing.

If the Lazy V parking lot is full, you will need to park at the Meadow parking lot.

From the Meadow Lot (near the park entrance): Hike or bike the Staunton Ranch and follow it until it ends at Bugling Elk. Continue on Bugling Elk to the Elk Pond Cabin. From the cabin, head uphill on the Lion's Back Trail. Take a left on Chimney Rock Trail to access the developed climbing.  This is a 5 mile approach that is pretty flat.

This is the tower of rock to the side of the waterfall looking at it from the boulderfield side. It has a few short crack systems but would more than likely give better sport routes.

This is the same tower from the back going upstream from the falls in the marshes.
