DescriptionA direct quote from Missouri Limestone Select
"Scheuler Ferry is a great limestone sport crag. Unlike most of its neighbors, Scheuler houses thirty plus bolt protected routes on quality limestone. Most of the routes are 5.10 or harder, including Missouri's largest concentration of 5.12's.
At Scheuler Ferry, steep is the name of the game. Steep, steep, steep. With great views, an easy approach, and a high concentration of quality routes, Scheuler's is sure to be one of the most sought-out limestone crag in the Midwest. All routes average fourty to seventy feet tall so one rope will get you off any route. A light rack and set of quickdraws should get you up anything at Scheuler Ferry."
Private Property Details
Ferry parking still exists but is limited. Access by the Osage River provides many trees for boats to be tied. Respect private homes, yards and hunting areas. Take notice to all posted signs.
Getting ThereFrom Jefferson City, head West on Highway 54. Take the exit for Highway B, and turn left to go South. Shortly after, Highway B will fork to the right. Follow Highway B to St. Thomas. As St. Thomas, hit your trip-set- button when you reach the big church. Go 1.4 miles to Scheuler Ferry Road and turn right. Follow this gravel road to its end at a boat ramp on the Osage River. Park at either side of the bridge.
Hike back up to the last green house and into the woods above it. An unmaintained trail leads uphill into the woods to the Bluff One.
