Description

Secluded 30'-40' Cliff in the middle of the Fremont Rd Sandown Town Forest. Mostly toprope and some bouldering.

Bring Lots of Webbing/Static rope as the solid trees for anchors are 15-30 ft away from the edge.

As of right now there are no named routes but it looks like there could be a dozen or so solid climbs from 5.6 to 5.11 as well as some boulder problems. There's a real cool variety of rock, with neat textures and cool overhangs. Currently there is a lot of veggetation on the rock and some broken glass at the bottom soon to be cleaned up.

Getting There

From NH 121A in Sandown, NH, Turn on to Fremont Rd at the Store in the Center of Town. 1 Mile down the road on the right is the Town Forest Parking Lot.

About a 15 Minute Rolling hike to the crag.Take the Red/Purple Trail. At the Fork stay right to stay on the purple trail and continue to stay right when the purple trail loop splits. The trail will come to a very small overlooking clearing at the top of the crag with some sparse, but good trees for TR anchors. You can walk to the base of the cliff on either side.

A buddy of mine climbed this last year. pretty sharp rock, and poor anchors as mentioned. I checked out the crag and there is some potential for a number of routes. There are a number of boulders in the area spread out around the trails and near the cliff as well. Apr 11, 2014

Took my dog for a walk out here last week to find that great rock has been vandalized quite heavily with spray paint on every piece of rock within reach, and litter and broken glass everywhere. Its a shame. Oct 20, 2014

Has anyone been there recently? I live really close and would like to check it out if its worth it. Thanks. Feb 9, 2018
I go there multiple times a year and the view from the top is amazing. There is a trail through the woods to the top. Feb 25, 2018

I've read a few places of people trying to develop this crag. But, because they wanted to put bolts on top for anchors, people fought it. Though bolts on top would make it safer and would save the trees. If any locals are interested in developing/cleaning, shoot me a PM. Jun 21, 2018

Checked out the crag and climbed one easy line. Other than the obvious damage done from a "teenage hang out", I was impressed by the unique rock features and potential climbs. I will be going back. Jul 2, 2018
