Description

This crag gets shade in the morning and sun in the afternoon. Its good seasons are spring, late fall, and winter. The rock is a limestone/quartzite/sandstone mix. It can definitely get crowded, but sometimes you'll be there alone.

Main Elk Crag is a beautiful crag loaded with great rock in a beautiful setting. It is definitely worth the day away from rifle to climb beautiful sandstone/quartzite. The loose looking stuff all seemed to be well-attached and provided for fun climbing. The routes on the prow, Best in Show and Black Ball Retriever are especially worthy. Oct 23, 2017
