Description

Storm Crag is a recently developed area, that offers good long moderate sport routes on excellent rock. The climbing in generally has a slabby feel, however most climbs have steeper sections that generally provide the crux moves.

The crag faces north and offers shady climbs, but the sun is never far away from the base of the crag. The views down towards horseshoe lake and the back of Mammoth Mountain are stunning.

Getting There

Park at the Lake George parking lot and start hiking on the Crystal Lake Trail. Hike uphill for several minutes until you reach some large water tanks and then leave the trail heading west. Cross over the ridgeline and then contour along the hillside following some metal pipes until you reach a stream. The first crag you see is Spring Crag - continue passed this for a further 180 yards until you hit a steam that flows down below Stream Wall. At the stream turn left and head upstream. After 3 or 4 minutes you will see the crag up hill. Continue up the talus field to the base of the crag.
