Access Issue: Betlispfeiler closed. Details

Local politician has placed an unofficial (but fairly official-looking) sign saying climbing prohibited on this sector, effective fall 2012. 'Danger of rockfall'... for whom, not sure.

While not legally binding, please think twice before risking everyone's access by climbing here.

Description

A handful of multipitch routes rising from near the lake up a steep face to the road.

Fantastic views of the lake and valley from the south-facing wall. Most routes go on bolts, but a small rack recommended; larger gear for the easier stuff.

Can approach climbs by abseil down from the road where you park for the Galerie and forest climbs, or from below by the path from Weesen to Betlis.

Getting There

Car: park in the small lot immediately after the Galerie tunnel, or as close as possible. Two abseil stations get you down to different groups of climbs. The first is immediately below the parking lot, second across a small grassy field to the left as you look at the lake.

Abseil down, climb up!
