Description
Great single to multi-pitch sport routes on Telluride Conglomerate stone. Possibly some of the best bolt clipping in Telluride.
Getting There
Oz, Fairview Wall, Yellow Brick Wall, and Waterfall Chute cliffs are all roughly 1.5 hour approaches. Park at the town park. Hike up Bear Creek until you reach the Bear Creek boulder before the main waterfall. When you get to the boulder, you get two options:
Option 1 - cross the creek, and head up towards old mine tailings. At the top of the tailings, you will hit some steep switchbacks that go below a 20' cliff. Follow the steep trail until you hit a drainage. Head up the drainage until you reach a clearing. There is a faint user trail that leads up towards Oz and the Fairview Wall. By "faint", think deer-path with waist to chest high brush.
Option 2 - hike up the Wasatch trail up above the main Bear Creek waterfalls for roughly 1 mile until just before the bridge. Cross the creek (to east side of drainage), and traverse under the red clay cliffs on the obvious trail/path towards the cliffs. This is slightly longer of an approach in terms of mileage but faster (time-wise) and much easier than the tailings/bushwhack/choss drainage approach (Option 1).
