Oquirrh Mountains

Utah > W Desert

Description

While not nearly as popular as the Wasatch range to the East, this area has been seeing a lot of development lately. Kennecott owns much of the land in these mountains especially to the North. This range offers plenty of unexplored crags yet to be developed.

Much of the information contained in the following areas come with permission from James Garrett's guide "Utah's West Desert."
This is an amazing guide to the areas west of Salt Lake, buy the book!

Getting There

The Oquirrh Mountain Range runs North-South to the West of the Salt Lake Valley.

[Hide Comment] Is this area accessible from Herriman? I tried getting there yesterday but every route Google tried to take me down was blocked by the mine. Do I have to drive around into Toole to get there? May 3, 2017

[Hide Comment] The pass through Butterfield canyon from Harriman drops into Middle canyon on the Tooele side. Won't be open til after Memorial Day. But it is actually a little quicker to drive around. But either way you have to go through Tooele or down through Utah County and back up. May 6, 2017
