Description

This is a must-visit boulder while at GHSP. Steep, proud, and unforgiving. True Grit houses one of the most loved and hated V5's in the park "True Grit". The holds on this line are thin, deep flakes with only feint pebbles and ripples on which to stand. If you don't have your footwork down to an art on "True Grit" you'll need to muster up your own true grit to get you to the top.

Also on this boulder are a handful of other lines that will test your tendons and core; "Lynchmob" and "Palisade".

There are a plethora of other contrivances and test-pieces to be had here if you are interested. I would rather keep the content listed to the most straight forward boulder problems. Ask around or make up your own!

Getting There

Follow the Split Rock Bouldering Trail that starts between the two large Oak trees (behind the little green box) at the park office. The trail will lead you directly to the Periscope Boulder. The True Grit Boulder will be just a bit further and left of Periscope. You can't miss it. Its larger, steep, and awesome.
