Desperation

Washington > Northwest Region > Bellingham & Mt… > Bellingham Area > Larrabee

Description

Aesthetically, it's hard to beat Desperation. The crag faces the ocean leaving visitors with a fantastic view of the San Juans along with amazing sunsets. Rock is of fantastic quality for ocean-side sandstone. Routes run from 25-35 feet, most of which can be top roped using the trees above the crag. Bring plenty of webbing for extending anchors. Some of the routes still need to be cleaned. Check the tides before you go! 8 is likely the highest you'll want to attempt these routes at if you're top roping, it should be lower for leading.

Getting There

Access is found from the tracks and from the beach. If approaching from the train tracks, crag is located between and opposite of Grey Wall and Dihedral Area.
