Description
All of the climbs on the Western Battleship formation are West-facing. The rock quality varies, with bomber splitter cracks in some areas, and chossy rotten rock in other areas. This formation has one of the most quality cracks that I've climbed in Vernal, Mike's V-card. Like the other battleships, there is an upper formation and lower formation, both containing many opportunities for first ascents and tons of adventure.
Getting There
Follow the J-Boy trail starting at the Dinosaur Tracks parking area. Head northwest on the trail up and over the hill until it runs along the backside of the formation. For the upper formation routes keep heading along the bluffs when the trail turns sharply to the right. For lower formation routes follow the trail around to the right until you run into the lower bluffline.
