University Bouldering

Utah > Wasatch Range > Central Wasatch > Salt Lake Count… > Mt Van Cott

Description

This is a short cliff band of nice rock that offers up some easy bouldering, with potential for harder eliminates.

Getting There

Hike up from the Red Butte Canyon parking lot on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail for about 15 minutes until the short cliff band is obvious on the slope above you. There is a faint trail that leads up to the cliff.

It would be faster to get there if you parked on the edge of campus or the residential neighborhood north of the U.

[Hide Comment] I'm not sure if this was just some college kids messing around or if it was meant as a joke but I hiked up to these "boulders" over the weekend and it was pretty disappointing. The rock provides fantastic grip with great holds but there are almost no landings to be found. Even with a spotter, I would be hesitant to push it in this area. If you fall, you're going to roll all the way down to the U and it won't be fun. Apr 15, 2019
