Description

Super secluded. Its the Pinnacles, so the rock is always questionable. Some of the routes are better than others rock quality wise, but the routes themselves are super fun.

Some of the most historic routes in the history of climbing at the Pinnacles are found here from the ground breaking Salathe Route to the visionary Love Line.

Getting There

From the reservoir head south on the Chalone Peak Trail for about 1/4 mile until you reach the western edge of the reservoir. Follow a climber's trail(carabiner trail marker) which skirts the western shores of the reservoir. Shortly past that, find a faint trail which heads north and up a short slope to connect to an old road bed. Follow the road bed for about 1/3 mile until you are just across from the last big formation you can see on the hillside to your left. This is the Hand/Thumb formation. A faint trail follows the drainage to the base of the rock.
