Anchor Crag

International > N America > Canada > British Columbia > Sunshine Coast
Warning Access Issue: not sure of property ownership or status DetailsDrop down

Description

Best quality granite on the Sunshine Coast. Beautiful clean crack climbing at it's best. Comparable to squamish rock only a little smaller. Perched above the town of Sechelt this crag offers a great view of the surrounding area and the ocean.

Full sun in the morning but the entire crag is shaded and cool any time after noon.

Not sure of the route names as there has not been an official guidebook for this area yet. Let me know if these routes are already named.

Getting There

Follow Anchor rd across trail ave to the end. Walk up the old road and take the first left by the old dump truck. Follow this trail for about 200' and you can't miss the crag on your right. Do not follow rd past crag is it enters known private property.

[Hide Comment] Easy access to excellent condition bolts for walk up top roping and short, mellow routes makes this crag great for beginners. Bit of a crowded belay between the rock and prickly bushes. Small crag, but worth checking out if you're heading up the coast (maybe to Stillwater).

The cracks were really nice would like to climb them when they're dry. Would be a cool place to hang out if the bottom of the crag was cleared out. Apr 1, 2018

[Hide Comment] Climbed all of these on a family trip out to sechelt. Short but perfect splitter granite! Thank you for cleaning these up and bringing them into existence :) Jun 29, 2022
