The Diamond

Utah > Saint George > Utah Hills
Access Issue: Access requires crossing private property Details

Description

Wall faces Northwest and is shady in the morning with afternoon sun. The wall is higher then St. George @ 6,000 ft and is very secluded and remote.
Accessing the crag is very steep and belaying area is small and close to the wall. Not a safe place for kids.

The Diamond Wall is very large and offers 20+ routes ranging from 5.9 up to 5.13 with most routes 5.10c-5.12

Getting There

The Diamond is in the Utah hill area west of St. George. It's in the same area as The Soul Asylum, Gorilla cliffs, simian complex and, the Snake pit.
Refer to the other crags in the area for access to the area.
Access the Diamond by taking the first right after the white gate on the way to the Soul Asylum. If you drove up the wash park just past the gate and walk up the very steep road (do not drive up road, it is very dangerous and offers very little room for error.) Once on top locate climbing trail to the left marked with stacked rocks.

[Hide Comment] Worth the approach for the view alone! And the few routes I've done there were very enjoyable. Jan 28, 2014

[Hide Comment] The Goss guidebook is not the most helpful for this crag. Either have the Limestone Bible, or go with someone who knows the area. This is a magical place. Nov 26, 2017
