Description
The Red Clove Wall is perched above the Madison limestone in the central part of the long red wall that is east and downstream of the side canyon on the north side of the North Platte River.
Getting There
Use the Red & White Grotto Wall directions to get to the Red Wall Top (high point). Find Pincher Rock near this high point and either use the anchor bolts to the left of it 15 feet for rappelling or descent down the dog decent path carefully that lie in the same region. You can also locate other route anchors and rappel to the base trail.
Another but longer way gets you on the base trail by mostly walking--one short easy downclimb--is to go to the Base of the Hot Cinnamon Wall. See: Getting There in the AREA: Hot Cinnamon Wall. After passing to the east end of this wall along the base trail at a narrows and chain handrail you will enter the westmost end of the Red Clove Wall. The base trail ends at the east end of the Red Clove Wall at a difficult to pass pinchout of flat walkable surface above the white Madison Limestone. The Maroon Wall begins east of here.
