Description
There is bouldering starting at the road and heading up into the woods behind the AT/LT parking lot. It is a little noisy due to the close proximity of Route 11/30. The rock is high-quality Gneiss and contains some of the best problems in Southern Vermont.
Big thanks to everyone who has put in work in this area over the years and made it what it is now. Tom McCabe and crew have been pivotal in the development process. If there is wrong information anywhere in this guide, feel free to make a suggestion and it will be immediatley corrected. The goal of sharing this area is to provide accurate information on a wonderful place for individuals in Southern Vermont to boulder.
Guidelines to follow here:
- Be respectful of other hikers, runners, and boulderers
- Don't disrupt the natural ecosystem (as with many areas, we want to preserve as much of it as possible)
- What you bring in, your bring out - NO LITTERING
- Be safe and have fun
Just down the road, there is a Vermont 511 Weather Station that can be found on VT 511's website. It is listed under Winhall Rt. 11. Further down the road just past Bromley Resort, there is a small convenience store with quality food to stock up before or after climbing.
